Accurately proportions foam concentrate in the fire pump discharge stream
Around-The-Pump Proportioning (ATP) Systems provide a simple and effective means to introduce a foam concentrate at the desired percentage to the water being discharged in a fire pump system. With an ATP System, a small portion of the discharge from the pressure side of the pump serves as a “drive motor” being recirculated through an eductor to the suction side of the pump at which point foam concentrate is drawn in at a rich ratio. At the junction point of the eductor and water suction line, the rich foam solution is mixed with the incoming water to deliver a foam solution stream at the proper concentration.
Features
- Produces high flow foam solution discharge.
- Check valve prevents entry of water into the concentrate storage tank.
- Operation is continuous and automatic after initial calibration of foam concentrate metering valve.
- May be connected to multiple foam concentrate tanks via selection manifold.
Benefits
Once calibrated, ATP foam concentrate proportioning is accurate, continuous, and automatic.
ATPs provide fire truck and other pumper systems the flexibility to select the foam concentrate to proportion and apply. This allows the responder to choose the correct foam, such as a Class A or a Class B, appropriate to the given hazard.
High-quality construction with corrosion-resistant materials designed for the rigors of municipal and industrial firefighting environments.
